Is Turbo an autocorrected Turo?

Do you think you could live with it as a daily?

Also on the topic of Turo, what kind of bullshit is this:

Kinja'd!!!

For $100 a day, you damn well better have your stupid wheels on the car!

Does it come with a bag to put over your head? ugh

“Yes, of course the tires were that bald when I picked the car up.”

Easily. It’s crazy practical. Only downsides to daily-driver duty would be the not-good shifter and the interior noise.

What year is it and how’s the 5 speed holding up? Had a 2010, but that didn’t have the swole wheel arches or the quad exhaust tips.

What have you tried to fit into the trunk? Without the seats folded down, the space arrangement is a bit weird.

The noise can get a bit loud, but the shifter is fixed with the STi short-throw kit.

Just bags, nothing requiring folding the seats down.

I daily a WRX. On days when I do pickup, I load four teenage girls in the seats, plus five backpacks (including mine).

For our first camping trip, I put the seat down and filled it gear. There was plenty of space. I made it more useful by adding a set of load bars and a streamlined box.

Does it have torque or is it all top end power?

It’s a 2013 with 50k miles. The shifter feels real sloppy, but it works. Not sure how much it gets abused being a part-time rental.

It has ample torque down low, but it still feels like a turbo-4.

The short shifter helps, but eventually it does get a little vague and weird. There is a shifter bushing in there which i believe Subaru STI makes a replacement for.

A regular adult size mountain bike fits in there pretty well with the front wheel off when you fold it down. Also, a good chunk of boxes from IKEA, but I would secure any wine or cider bottles. Good news is, is that if something, say, full of liquids shatters in the trunk, there are a few drain holes that can shunt most of that away.

I had load bars in my 11 STI. I only used them once while I had the car, but I loved them.

The real question is, are teenage girls impressed by aggressive acceleration and handbrake turns as much as I’ve been told? For scientific rigor.

Quotes spoken in my car, usually after I exhibit some kind of bad driving behavior:

“Riding in your car is like having your own rollercoaster.”

“Ooo, I like that.”

“Can we take the next turn a little faster?”

“This is nothing like my mom’s minivan.”

The center diff in the WRX I believe is a viscous coupling, leading to 50/50FR torque split. I tried pretty hard and I’m not an expert, but unless you had loose traction most of the time you’d just push. STI has a better torque split (modern ones are 41/59) and a DCCD center diffy-thingy which helps.

Nope. I will not be putting this car into either of my kids’ hands. It’s too powerful, it’s too fast, and it’s far too easy to drive beyond one’s capabilities.

My mother-in-law kept offering her G-35 coupe to my daughter. I rejected it for the same reasons.

This specific car went well, but it took a few tries. I had two previous people cancel on me, one of which only gave a week warning. Didn’t matter for this trip, but that could have been a problem if I needed the car for something serious.
